Part VII
"Yes...ice cream," she responded, he enjoyed seeing her flustered, didn't he? He was doing this on purpose, just because she said that he couldn't make her swoon. Velvet picked up the painting, carefully, trying to cool her blush down a few tones.
He grinned and picked her up. "I thought I would carry you to the car...that way you wouldn't have to worry about the painting, I'm so glad you like it." he was teasing her, maybe just to see her blush, he loved that blush, it made her more beautiful. He'd said it before, she was the most beautiful girl in the whole school, and he meant every word.
Aaron had just ruined her carefully planned scheme to get her normal face color...now it was set off to an even darker shade of red, "A-aaron," she gasped at the sudden gesture, "You don't have to carry me you know..."
Aaron just grinned. "I know I don't Have to, I want to."
She let him carry her out to the car, becoming silent. "Which ice cream parlor are we going to?" she asked trying to change the subject from her. Directing it toward their plans.
He smiled. "Oh there's this nice little ice cream parlor, its a bit old fashioned, but its very cute. My mom use to take me there when I was little." He opened the car door then set her down gently.
"Thank you," she told him slowly, turning a bit to place the painting somewhere safe while they went out...go out. Velvet watched him after doing so...going out, that's what the rumors said. So what, they were going out. No wait, they weren't--aren't. We are...kinda...now...

He got in. "Is something wrong, Vel?" He asked her noticing the look on her face, he started the car but didn't go, so he could wait for her answer.

Shoot, she got caught. "Nothing, it's not that important," leaning back Velvet settled in, moving her fingers through her hair.
He smiled and started going. "Have you heard any rumors lately?" He wanted to know what she had heard, maybe then he could piece the pieces together.
She glanced at him, "You tend to hear things when you have better hearing abilities than the human next to you. But yeah, I've heard rumors..." Velvet smiled, perhaps he wanted to know what she had heard about them both. "There's a rumor about a ghost in the cheerleader's locker room." She shrugged, "There's such a thing as werewolves, how about ghosts right?" She was stalling, it was obvious but she wanted to know if he really could read her...as it seemed he could.
"I've seen her...she's no rumor." Allen stated calmly, as if it were natural to see ghosts at school. "But darling, that's not what I meant and you know it."
"Does that mean you go close enough to the cheerleader locker room to check it out?" she swallowed a bit...now everything was in it's place. Aaron was completely spirit aware, he could feel oddities within others, it would explain his reaction to Xash. Perhaps, his reaction to her. "It doesn't help quell rumors..." she added slowly in a soft voice, "that we skipped the last part of school together. Not that I really care about what they say about me, I'm a bit more worried if you care."
He chuckled. "No she was in the guys locker room the other day, her name is Sally, she'd gotten lost. I don't care either...it just bugs me that people at our school don't have anything better to do then try and ruin the lives of others."
Mimicking his chuckle she looked out the window, shifting her gaze from him. "I don't think it really matters when you're a werewolf. You're quite popular though. Making rumors all in one day just because you start talking to me." Velvet looked back at him again smiling, she wanted to see his expression, "I suppose they're just jealous that they don't get a ride in your porsche."
He smiled and blushed a bit. "I wouldn't let any other girl in here, but you...or my mom...you have to be extra special to ride in my Porsche." He stopped the car at the parlor.

Velvet laughed again, "You blush...pretty easily," from here she could feel his presence, "looks like you can't take too many compliments, dear Aaron." She shook her head with a mischievous smile, "Don't worry though, it makes you all the more cuter, if that's even possible.
He blushed even more...it was weird normally he was the one making her blush. He got out and opened the door for her. "They make the best sundaes here."
Watching him for a bit was pretty fun, now she could guess why he liked to make her blush. Stepping out of the car, "Then I'll let you order, I've never been here before.”

"Well...what kind do you like?" He asked taking her hand in his. "Maybe we like the same and can share." He teased her a bit.
She was getting used to him, this was fine, "Doubt it, but I like strawberry but vanilla is good too." Velvet guessed where the front door was, leading him off while smiling, as if she had brought him and he wasn't the one that brought her.
He chuckled. "So you do like to be in control in the relationship." He teased. "Have you ever had a sundae before?" He asked, noting her flavor choices
She blushed, "Well, I am a wolf..." it was her basic answer to both questions, "I've never had a sundae before, that's why I'll just have you order for me. I trust...well I hope that you won't order something weird?"
'I don't know what a weird sundae is..." He opened the door, "So you don't have to worry too much. You just have a seat, I'll order."
Watching him, she leaned forward on the table. Tomorrow is Saturday... it was always far more dangerous to have a full moon on a weekend. There were plenty of people about, especially on a Saturday. She'd have to be careful. Holding up her chin with her hand and elbow, her gaze followed Aaron. Xash marked him as her prey already, but if anyone found out that he was spirit aware, there would me much more trouble. She'd have to keep close to him, for now. A small ghost of a smile appeared on her face, not that she minded
Aaron ordered and paid for two strawberry sundaes. He watched her out of the corner of his eye, he smiled a bit. Sure maybe they weren't like a real couple, and maybe they never would be....but it was nice just to spend time with her. He knew he could probably never really touch her, and get away with it, she still had her pack to worry about, and he respected that. He also respected that she was worried about him, she didn't really need to be, but she was. "Here you go, a strawberry sundae." He smiled at her.
Picking up the spoon Velvet looked down at the sundae, "Thank you," she poked the pink ice cream absently eating a spoonful. "Do you come here often?"
"Not since the eight grade." He replied. "Do you like it?"
"It's not bad," she answered him back, smiling. "You've probably never been to where I work, we'll exchange new experiences I guess." Velvet took another spoonful.
"Good that way we'll be even. Are you excited about tomorrow?" He asked, for some odd reason he was running out of things to talk about. “And Vel, pleas don’t tell anyone about Sally.”
She laughed a bit, "Tomorrow...comes tomorrow. It's a Saturday, I should be excited, weekend, no? And about Sally. You didn't notice did you? I don't talk to many people, when I do...it usually isn't your nicest or your average conversation. You don't have to worry," Velvet poked at the ice cream again then glanced at him.
"I was going to ask you to come to my soccer game." He smiled at her. "Do tell your mom though, she might know something that can help her, Sally couldn't tell me why she hadn't moved on yet, just that she hadn't."
"My dad used to tell me about ghosts when I was younger. He'd mostly talk about vampires more though," she shrugged a shoulder, "I'll ask my mom about it. I really never took my dad seriously, he'd joke too much. Never serious unless it came to the pack. Only once...was he serious with me alone," Velvet leaned back, placing her back against her chair, "it was to tell me to be careful when I was living alone. I guess a father is still a father, wolf or not."
He chuckled. "The only time my dad sat down to talk to me seriously when we had the 'talk'...." He finished his ice cream. "Other then that, my dad and I don't talk much, mom and I are closer...." He blushed a bit.
"Ah yes, the talk. Is that the talk about sex or the talk about puberty?" Velvet teased him a bit, casually eating another spoonful of ice cream. "I'm actually closer to the pack healer though, probably because the pack always had me go to her a lot. They were scared of the slightest thing that happened to me, because I wasn't full anything." She looked up for a moment, her gaze directed toward him, "I guess I should explain that a bit more..."
He chuckled a bit. "the first one...and you are full something, your full girl, and fully beautiful."
She leaned back, smiling...flattered, now he was avoiding the inevitable. "I meant a species. I'm not entirely wolf...nor entirely werewolf or human. Arcil, the healer from a sister clan told me that I'll have problems soon." She stopped poking her ice cream, Arcil had told her specifically what might happen, if she were to be careless, what would happen eventually anyway.
"Problems...like?" He asked, concerned, he didn't want to lose her, he wondered if he would ever be able to tell her that...probably not, but he could at least be close to her.
Watching him the smile on her face was still there, lighter than before but there nonetheless. He was worried about her, she could tell from the expression on his face, the mixture of emotions in his eyes. "Oh...like the differences in my blood trying to outweigh each other," Velvet wanted to put it in as slight a term as possible. She didn't want to worry him too much, but at the same time, she didn't want to lie to him. "I'd probably start transforming abnormally without doing it myself...and without the full moon."
Aaron nodded. "Is there anything I can do...to prevent it from happening?" He wanted to help, he reached out and put his hand on her's. He wanted to show her how much he cared for her, without being a burden, or making her worry about him.
