IV
Velvet lay on her bed, sprawled, starring at the ceiling she spent days painting like a night sky. She'd skip the rest of school...perhaps tomorrow? No, would her mom allow that?
If she could transform right now, she'd bolt straight into the woods, the forest. Batter some of the wolves in the other clan. If only she could.
Velvet didn't even try to look out the window, it would be the same absent scenery, something she could never be a part of. The road separated the forest from the next sidewalk in front of her house. It was like her life, how would she fit into either one?

Wolves zigzagged through the trees, it was getting cloudy out, and they smelt rain. They'd send the little ones in with Velvet perhaps, they couldn't get caught up in the war.

Aaron heard the thunder and saw the flash of lighting through the only window in his room. "I hope she's not out in this..." He muttered, he knew better, after what he said to call her, but he wanted to hear his voice, no it wasn't a want it was a Need...he picked up his phone and touched the two, that was what he'd put as her speed dial.
She listened to the rain pelt the glass on the window, a harsh, blinding sound. It was overpowered only by the sound of her phone in her ear, melody playing on the side table. Velvet flipped it open, glancing at the screen above her. She narrowed her eyes a bit, thinking about it. Her finger ran over the disconnect button...she didn't have the heart to press it. For another second her eyes traveled over his name, he had been the one to put it in. "Hello?" she spoke softly when she pressed the accept button finally.
Aaron smiled. "I'm glad you picked up....I'm sorry that I hurt you, Vel. Hey want to come over and watch a movie, I'll come get you, just watch something, as friends."
"I think..." she paused hesitating, "I think you should come over here so we can talk, we'll watch a movie over here." Velvet glanced out the window, sitting up. She wanted to explain to him...why. She shouldn't but she wanted to see him. His reaction interested her to say the least, if he knew the real danger, would he leave?
"Are you sure, I won't be disturbing any one?" He was already on his way out the door though, good thing they had a garage for the car, he didn't have an umbrella.
His car was a black Porsche, he'd gotten it for an early graduation gift, it was nothing to fancy, but it was cozy.
"Hm, I don't think so," she was more worried that they would disturb him. But that was the point wasn't it? Velvet would show him, just how dangerous curiosity really was. It wasn't to say that he would listen...and it seemed like he didn't. Since he called her.
"Do you want to know what I'm driving, so you can know what to look for?" He started his car, it purred, he smiled a bit.

She thought about it, "A stylish guy like yourself, I'd have to say your car would be black?" she guessed, he could have just as well said, no, it's pink. Velvet smiled slightly, "I'll know when I see it." She moved toward the window, perhaps she wouldn't be able to see it. What she saw now was a pack of dog-like creatures heading toward the backyard. Smaller wolves filed after...pups. Her prediction that he would be disturbed was probably right.
He chuckled. "You know me too well." He'd already pulled up to her apartments. "Are you sure I'm not going to disturb any one..."
She was coming down the steps, "A bit too late, to turn back isn't it?" she called to him, more through the rain than through the phone. Velvet gave him a small smile, "Hopefully no one sees us...we're cutting, after all." They were acting as if nothing happened, she was acting as if she hadn't just cried all the way to her own apartment.
Aaron practically ran all the way to the steps. "Eh, and who cares if they do?" He smiled at her. "Do you feel better now?" He asked politely.
She nodded lightly, "C'mon, my mom'll have a fit if she finds out I'm making you stand in the rain." Velvet led him up the steps, and to her room. The apartment was a bit spacious, enough for living at least. Her mom wasn't to be found there anymore, "My mom is probably in the backyard," she explained a bit
He chuckled a bit. "So I take it she likes the rain then?' He followed her, the apartment was nice, it was quaint, certianly big enough. He liked it, it had a cozy atmosphere too it.
He chuckled. "I prefer thunderstorms myself to just a rainy day...." His stomach rumbled slightly, making his face flush. "No, I didn't....but don't worry about me.'
Laughing a bit she leaned against the counter, "I didn't eat either," she explained, "I could make a sandwich or something?" Velvet suggested, looking through cupboards and the refrigerator.
He smiled. "At least let me help you...what movie would you like to watch?" He asked. "What do we have?"
She shrugged, smiling a bit, "They're over there, pick whichever you want," she busied herself with the food, "You'll be helping enough by picking." In all truth, she didn't have many movies, it wasn't much of a hobby to collect them.
Velvet watched in him time to time, wondering if he was really planning on doing something about the situation with their differences.
